Creating and Distributing Coupons
This guide walks you through creating coupons and vouchers, setting up discount rules, and distributing them to your guests.
For an overview of coupon types and concepts, see the Vouchers & Coupons Reference.
Creating a Coupon or Voucher
-
Click on Marketing in the left sidebar.
-
Under the Content Tools section, click on Vouchers & Coupons.
-
Click the Plus icon in the upper right corner to open the creation form.
-
Optionally, select relevant activities.
-
Select the Coupon Type:
- Multi-Use Promotional Code: A reusable code anyone can enter
- Single Use Coupon: Unique codes that can only be used once
- Bulk Service Recovery: Sent directly to guest wallets
For Multi-Use Promotional Codes, you must set the coupon code now. It cannot be changed after creation.
-
Enter a Title for the coupon or voucher.
This title appears when guests redeem coupons, in reports, and in promotional materials.
-
Set the Valid From Date when the coupon becomes redeemable.
-
Set the Expiration Date when the coupon stops working.
-
Set Max Uses Per Guest to limit how many times one guest can use the promotion.
-
Optionally, add a Description to help your team understand the coupon’s purpose.
-
Click Save & Add Rules.
Creating Discount Rules
Discount rules define which products get discounted and by how much. You must add at least one rule for the coupon to work.
-
With the coupon open, click the Plus icon in the Discount Rules section.
-
Select the Rule Type to determine what products the discount applies to:
- Discount specific items: Select individual products
- Discount specific item classifications: Apply to accounting classifications
- Discount specific item groups: Apply to item groups
- Discount specific item tags: Apply to products with specific tags
- Discount specific item types: Apply to entire product types (Access, Rental, Lesson, F&B, Retail)
-
Select the Discount Type:
- Percentage off: Reduce price by a percentage
- Amount off: Reduce price by a dollar amount
- Override price: Set a fixed price (only works with single-item coupons)
Discounts apply to the base price before taxes and fees. See the Charge Hierarchy for details.
-
Uncheck All Products and click Add to select specific items for the rule.
-
Optionally, uncheck Everyday and select which days of the week the discount can be used.
-
Click Save.
Distributing Coupons
SnowCloud provides several ways to get coupons to your guests. All methods require the Send Coupons permission.
Send to a Guest from Their Profile
- Navigate to the guest’s profile in Guest Search.
- Find the Coupons & Vouchers section.
- Click the Plus icon in the upper right corner of the section.
- Select the coupon to send.
- Specify how many to send.
- Optionally, add a note to include in the email.
- The guest receives an email notification and the coupon appears in their wallet.
Send from the Coupons List
- Navigate to Marketing > Vouchers & Coupons.
- Find the coupon and click the Email icon in the Actions column.
- Enter the recipient’s email address.
- Specify how many to send.
- Optionally, add a note.

If the email is associated with an existing guest, the coupon goes to their wallet. If not, they receive an invitation to create an account.
Send from Within a Coupon
- Navigate to Marketing > Vouchers & Coupons.
- Click on the coupon to open it.
- In the Sent Coupons section, click the Email icon.
- Follow the same steps as sending from the list.
The Sent Coupons section shows all instances of this coupon with their status:
- Unclaimed: Sent to an email without a SnowCloud account
- Claimed: Account created, coupon available for use
- Used: Guest has redeemed the coupon
Creating Coupon Code Batches
For Single-Use Coupons, you can generate batches of random codes to distribute outside of SnowCloud (on physical coupons, in emails, etc.).
- Open the coupon in Marketing > Vouchers & Coupons.
- Find the Coupon Code Batches section.
- Click the Plus icon to open the batch creation form.
- Enter the number of codes to generate.
- Click Create Coupon Codes.
To view individual codes in a batch, click the QR code icon in the batch row.
Coupon codes are 11 alphanumeric characters with a hyphen (e.g., ABCD5-6EFGH). They’re not case-sensitive. The letters O and I are never used to avoid confusion with 0 and 1.
