Activity Shops
Activity Shops define the shape of the e-store in which access products are sold. This includes tickets, passes, rentals, lessons, and packages. Activity shops define each main section of your e-store, and are generally divided into specific activities: Snow Sports, Snow Tubing, Bike Park, Water Park, etc. You can run multiple activity shops simultaneously, and you can turn any activity shop off and hide it from the e-store once the season is over.
Creation Guide
To create an activity shop, click on the Products menu. Then, click on Activity Shops under “Activity Products”. This opens the activity shops page. Here, you will see any activity shops that have been set up, which you can modify, delete, or create new ones. Activity shops are automatically created from any previously set up activities. If you’ve already created the activity for the shop you’re setting up, you can skip to the modifying an activity shop section.
Creating an activity
Clicking the plus sign in the top right corner will take you to the activities page. Click the plus sign on the top right of this page, and you will see a set-up menu for a new activity.
Here, you can specify a title and tagline for your shop. Both will be visible within the e-store. The tagline is optional, but we recommend a short catchphrase for the activity, or your resort’s slogan. You may give the activity a description, however this will not be visible within the e-store. You must also upload pictures for your activity shop, which will be displayed as a full page-width banner while guests browse the e-store. You can upload multiple banner images, and a carousel will cycle through each image. Uploaded images will not be stretched, but will be cropped to fit the banner’s size. You can also optionally specify a capacity. Once you are done, click “Save New Venue / Activity”. For more information, check out the activities page.
You’ll now be taken back to the activities page. Let’s navigate back to the activity shops page. You’ll notice an activity shop was automatically created for our new activity.
Modifying an activity shop
By default, all activity shops will be offline. We can enable it once we’ve added some products to our shop. Click on your activity shop to modify it.
Here, you’ll see a number of different options. In the top right corner of the information section, you can change the offline/online status of the shop. Once you click save, changes will be visible to guests. Menu mode determines if the POS app will mimic the e-store’s setup, or, if it will take on another set of menus and pages that you can specify.
Under Menus & Items, we can begin to structure our shop. There are three levels of structure within shops. They are:
- Shop Menus
- Shop Pages
- Shop Items
Menus are where you break your products into large categories. For example, day tickets and lesson packages. Pages are where you further break these items down into types to appear in your e-store. These are more useful for retail and F&B shops, so you might not need the extra level of structure here. If you only have one page under a menu, when a guest selects that menu, they will automatically enter that page. Finally, the item level is where you add products to your shop, and is the final point along the path a guest takes to add an item to their cart.
You can create a menu by clicking on the plus icon in the top right corner of the Menus card in the Menus & Items section. Specify a title, description, and add an image. All three of these will be displayed in the e-store. Click on save, and the pages section will appear. A default page is created automatically. If you wish to add more pages under this menu, click on the plus icon.
To add items to a page, click on the plus icon in the items card. Make sure you have the page you want this to appear under selected. In the select product menu, you can search by name or type of product, and can select as many items as you would like. Click on update menu once you are done. You can drag and drop menus, pages, and items, to the order you would like.
Once you’re done making changes, make sure to hit the Save button to make any changes go live.
Conclusion
That’s it! You’ve created an activity, set up its activity shop, and added items to the shop. Once the store is online, your products will be displayed for guests to purchase. Next, make sure you’ve added inventory through the inventory calendar, which will determine what products will be sold on what days, how many, set up dynamic pricing, and more.
