Product Types

There are currently six different types of products that can be sold within SnowCloud. Each one has a significantly unique set of functionality. Multiple different types of products can be combined and sold as a product package.

Tickets & Passes

Tickets & Passes, or access products, grant access to a particular activity. They have attached access entitlements, which give a guest access to different attractions throughout the resort.

Lessons

Lesson products support inventory management to prevent overselling based on instructor availability. Lessons can be configured with capacity limits, scheduled time slots, and skill level requirements. When guests purchase lessons, they can be assigned to specific instructors or lesson groups.

Rentals

Rental products give guests rental entitlements, which allow for rental fleet items to be issued or checked out. The rental system supports fleets (e.g., ski boots, snowboards, bikes), sizes, and classifications for precise inventory tracking.

Issued rental items are tied to the guest, allowing for easy lookup and reporting of guests with outstanding rentals. Staff can issue rentals using the Rental Shop app on mobile devices.

Retail Items

Retail items support inventory tracking, barcode scanning, and detailed reporting. Products can be assigned SKUs, organized by classification, and configured with pricing and tax settings. Retail items are ideal for merchandise, equipment sales, and other physical goods sold through the POS or web store.

F&B Items

Food and beverage products support menu management, modifiers, and kitchen display system (KDS) integration. Items can be organized into shops, assigned classifications for reporting, and sold through the POS.

Gift Cards

Gift cards can be purchased from the web store, and guests can gift them to other guests. They can be redeemed into user funds, which may be used in the web store and in the POS on purchases.
