UHF Device Setup

Peripheral setup can be configured by all app users, but is recommended to be set up per device before usage.

Phone Requirements:

  • iOS 16 or later.
  • Bluetooth enabled device.
  • Stable Wi-Fi connection.

UHF Device Requirements:

Once these requirements are met, there are two places in which the UHF device must be configured. The first is by connecting the device through the device’s Bluetooth settings.

  • Charge and turn the UHF device on by pressing the trigger. A blinking blue light should appear on the side of the device, indicating it is ready for pairing.
  • Open the device’s Bluetooth settings. Select to pair a new device. The UHF device’s serial number should appear in the list of pairable devices.
  • Click on the UHF device in the list. The device is successfully paired when the blinking blue light on the side of the device becomes a solid blue light.

Next, SnowCloud must configure and attach to the device.

  • Open the SnowCloud Operator App and sign in.
  • Using the sidebar, go to Apps > Peripherals
  • In the Media Reader section, click on the plus icon.
  • If your UHF device has successfully connected to the phone, the serial number of the device should appear in a list.
  • Click on the device you would like to connect, and wait until the loading sign goes away to confirm the UHF device has been correctly configured.

The UHF device should now be configured with the app to scan media. For more on using a UHF device to scan media, visit the Access Control Usage guide.
