Configuring Your Basic Access Product's Inventory

For access products, SnowCloud uses a calendar to manage inventory. This calendar allows you to set the availability of your product for specific dates and times, as well as manage the number of items available for sale. This is particularly useful for products that have limited availability, such as lift tickets or rentals.

Now that you’ve created your first product and attached an entitlement to it, let’s walk through the process of configuring inventory.

Configuring Inventory

  1. Start by logging into your SnowCloud account.

  2. From the left sidebar, click on Products, then under the Activity Products section, click on Inventory Calendar.

  3. On this page, you’ll see a calendar view of any existing inventory. Let’s add inventory to our new access product by clicking on the Add Inventory button at the top of the page.

  4. Upon clicking the button, the Inventory Wizard will appear. There are multiple options available based on your individual product needs, but for this example, we’re going to keep it simple with a full day, single use ticket. Therefore, we’ll select the Single Day Use option.

  5. Next, a list of your products will appear. Here, we’ll select the checkbox next to the Lift Ticket product that we created earlier.

  6. Now we can start configuring the product’s inventory. Let’s start by selecting the Inventory Date that we want to add inventory for. For this example, we want to start selling it now, so we’ll select today’s date.

  7. Moving on to the Quantity Available field, we’re able to enter the number of items that are available on a particular day.

Since our fictional example resort can warp space and time to serve an unlimited stream of guests, we’ll leave this blank. However, if your resort cannot distort reality, you’ll enter the maximum number of tickets here.

  8. The next two fields, Discount Type and Percent Off are optional. If we were adding something like a special offer, we could use these fields to create a special, limited time offer.

For the purposes of this example, we’re setting up our normal everyday tickets. Therefore, we’ll leave these as-is.

  9. While you could manually add inventory for each day, we suspect that you have far better things to do with your time. To save time, we can use the Repeat this Schedule option to automatically add multiple inventory calendar entries.

For this example, we want to add inventory for every day until the end of the season. To achieve this, we’ll select Every Day from the dropdown, then set the End on Date to the last day of the season.

  10. Now that your repeating inventory schedule is configured, click on the Save Schedule button to save and create it.

If all went well, you should now see your scheduled inventory within the calendar. With that out of the way, you’re ready to continue on to the next article, where we’ll walk through the process of configuring your product’s shop.
