Granting Access Entitlements to Product Purchasers
Now that you’ve created an Access product, it’s time to attach an entitlement to it, which will grant access to a particular area. Continuing our lift ticket example, let’s attach an entitlement that will automatically grant access to the lifts upon purchase.
-
If you just completed the last section, you should be on the edit screen for your new product. If not, navigate to it by clicking on your new Access product from within the list.
-
To begin adding an entitlement to the product, scroll down to the Access Entitlements section, then click on the plus icon to begin attaching an Access entitlement.
-
Using the Entitlement dropdown, select the entitlement that will be granted when the product is purchased. In this example, we’ll select Single Day Access.
If you don’t see any entitlements in the dropdown, you may have missed a step in this guide. See the Creating Access Entitlements guide for more information on how to create one.
-
Optionally, you can configure the number of times that the entitlement can be granted, directly from within the product. If left empty, the entitlement will be granted a single time.
Note that if you have a multi-use entitlement, this field will be combined with the entitlement’s own settings. For example, if the entitlement is configured to provide 3 Included Uses and the product has a Max Uses of 2, the total would result in 6..
-
Next, using the Expiration field, you’re able to configure when the Access Entitlement will expire.
For example, if we wanted to sell a limited time product that must be used within a week, we could select Expire period from purchase with an interval of 1 week after purchase.
-
Finally, click on the Save button to save your changes.
With that done, purchasers of our lift ticket product will be granted access to the lifts, without any additional intervention required.
By combining product and entitlements, granting access to new areas of your resort is as simple attaching an entitlement to a product. Similarly, any modifications to entitlements, such as changing which areas are included in the purchase price, will be reflected for all products that an entitlement is attached to.
