Create a Team Classification

In SnowCloud, each team member can have their own classification, which controls what they can and cannot do within the platform. By default, SnowCloud provides several classifications, such as Administrator, Manager, and Employee. However, you can also create custom classifications to better fit your organization’s needs.

In this article, we’ll show you how to create a custom classification for team members in SnowCloud.

Creating a Custom Classification

  1. Start by logging into your SnowCloud account.

  2. Using the left sidebar, click on Team/HR, then under the Team & Security section, click on Team Classification.

  3. You should now see a list of all existing classifications. To create a new classification, click on the Plus icon at the top right of the page.

  4. The first field is Season. This field determines the time period for which the classification is valid. For example, if an employee is hired to work the 2024-2025 season, you would create a classification for that season. After that season, the employee would need to be reclassified to maintain access.

Employees who are hired to work multiple seasons can be assigned the Perpetual classification, which will remain valid until manually changed.

  5. Next, you’ll enter the Effective Date and Expiration Date. These fields determine when the classification is valid. For example, if an employee is hired on March 1, 2024, you would set the effective date to March 1, 2024. If the employee is only hired for a single season, you would set the expiration date to the last day of the season.

  6. Next, you’ll select the Classification Type. Each classification type determines the maximum privileges that can be allocated to this class.

    • Employee - The minimum classification type. This class can be given up to the Cashier, Instructor, and Guest Services roles.
    • Manager - This classification type will automatically receive all Employee roles. It can also be assigned a number of different operations, accounting, and set up roles.
    • Administrative - This classification type will receive all Manager roles. It can also be assigned a number of different roles which give access to critical SnowCloud functions, such as SnowPay setup, billing, and basic site setup.
  7. Next, add a Classification Title. This is the name of the classification that will be displayed in the system.

  8. Optionally, you can enter a Description for the classification. This is useful for providing additional context to other administrators.

  9. Similar to the description, you can also add a Professional Designation to the classification.

  10. Finally, click the Save New Classification button to create the new classification.
